Harley-Davidson to Launch Mid-Sized 2027 Sprint 440
Harley-Davidson is aiming for new frontiers in 2027. The Motor Company, known for its large-displacement street yachts, is preparing to introduce the mid-sized Sprint 440 motorcycle to the American market.
This bike will be the smallest displacement machine in Harley’s catalog in the U.S. Globally, the only smaller Harley-Davidson is the X 350, but that machine is not available in North America.

With the new bike, it seems Harley is looking to attract new riders and those whose hearts may not flutter at the roar of an enormous engine. The company said it’s also aiming for bikers who want an uncomplicated and straightforward street ride.
The Sprint 440 is powered by a unique air/oil-cooled 440cc (26.9 cubic inches for Harley fanatics) single-cylinder motor. It produces a claimed 27 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and a maximum of 28 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. The engine works with a six-speed transmission with an assist and slipper clutch.

Drawing fuel from a 2.4-gallon tank, Harley promises the engine can get some 80 miles out of a gallon during combined city/highway riding. With the claimed range, the Sprint 440 could make for a good commuter motorcycle with the ability to get on the backroads on the weekend. Altogether, the motorcycle weighs a reported 412 pounds—a real featherweight for a Harley.

When the speed must stop, a 320mm disc and two-piston caliper in the front and a 240mm disc and a single-piston caliper in the rear slow the machine down. For suspension, the Sprint 440 features a 43mm inverted cartridge fork with 5.1 inches of travel and dual rear shocks with three inches of travel. The rear suspension has seven-step preload adjustability.
The round, 3.5-inch color TFT screen blends with the motorcycle’s retro-inspired style (there are no rider aids to control). Appearance-wise, the bike’s flowing lines, from the floating headlight through the fuel tank to the rear fender, make it unmistakably a Harley-Davidson. The bike comes in Dark Billiard Gray (base color), Vivid Black, and Teal Thunder colorways.

A welcome addition to the Motor Company lineup, the 2027 Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 is already available in Canada, where it retails for CAD$8,499 ($6,079 at the time of writing). We can likely expect a price tag in that ballpark once the motorcycle launches in the U.S. in spring 2027.
