Santa Clarita offers the ultimate Southern California lifestyle with endless opportunities to get outdoors and enjoy the sunshine. Santa Clarita is a motorcyclists paradise.

Spring has sprung. The trees are turning light shades of green, the air is warming, and flowers are beginning to line the roads. We’ve spent time in the garage recently, prepping our bikes and gear for the upcoming riding season. We have new tires, fresh engine oil, and plans to ride in places we’ve yet to explore. Vacation days are marked on the calendar. We’re eager to hit the road.

Spring is a lovely reminder of how beautiful change can truly be.

We’re excited for the transition from winter to spring this year. For us, it signifies more than just a change in weather. Cabin fever was strong for us this past winter. We were working hard to bring our RoadRUNNER subscribers lots of new and exciting things. Our new website is now live! It’s easier than ever to find tours and other motorcycle editorial right from our site. Web subscribers get access to our entire database of tours, including GPS routes along with weekly emails containing premium content.

We also have a new audio book available on Audible. If you enjoy learning about American history and want to embark on an epic American road trip, give it a listen. Finally, our fresh line of RoadRUNNER apparel is trickling into our online shop. Be sure to check out our new T-shirts, patch hats, and beanies! We’ll have more exciting announcements for you as the season progresses, but for now—ride safe!

Featured Tour Article: Five Colorado Roads in Five Days–To Honor A Friend

Unaweep-Tabeguache Scenic Byway

Several years back, a friend moved from California to Colorado, where he promptly bought a motorcycle. “Dude!” he wrote, not abandoning his California roots entirely.  “Come ride with me.  The roads here’ll blow your mind!”

“Someday,” I told him.

It was the last conversation we ever had. When he died a year later—ironically in a car accident—regret consumed me. Why do we always say: “Someday?” Fast-forward to the present. When my son chose the University of Colorado for law school, I knew it was time to make “someday” today. My plan was simple. Five mind-blowing roads in five days. To honor a friend.

Touring in the Snow

We just returned from a Snowbike Tour with SnowBike Nation in Northwest Montana just outside of Glacier National Park. What an incredible adventure! Spring Snowbiking is one of the best times of year to ride with long, sunny days and incredible snow to ride in.

As an end of season special, they've put together a discount for our subscribers only. Book your all inclusive guided "end of season" snowbike tour with SnowBike Nation for 15% off now through the end of April!

Don’t worry if you’ve never ridden a snowbike or even a dirtbike. If you can ride a motorcycle, you can shred a snowbike. Plus, the touring opportunities on a snowbike are like nothing else you have ever experienced!

Comparison Test: 2021 Indian Chieftain Elite vs. 2022 BMW R 18 B

2021 Indian Chieftain Elite vs. 2022 BMW R 18 B

Baggers are big business. New bikes are coming from some interesting quarters in the industry, including the typically cruiser-averse BMW with the new R 18 B. Indian, conversely, has been making touring motorcycles practically since the dawn of time—and certainly since they were restarted by Polaris back in 2011. That legacy continues with the limited-production Chieftain Elite bagger, which is limited to 120 units, but the Indian website shows you can still order it. I was able to ride both bikes recently.
