Triumph Updates Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660 for 2026

Triumph has announced significant updates to its 660cc road motorcycle range for the new model year. The 2026 Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660 have received major overhauls to improve their performance and riding comfort.

As the most significant change, a new engine now propels both bikes. The motorcycles now draw their power from Triumph’s high-performance 660cc liquid-cooled DOHC in-line three engine.

The triple generates 94 ponies of peak power at 11,250 rpm, marking a nearly 14-horsepower increase from the motorcycles’ previous iteration. Torque has increased to a maximum of 50.2 lb-ft at 8,250 rpm, with Triumph claiming 80% availability from 3,000 rpm. The engine also has a 20% higher redline at 12,650 rpm.

Together with the new engine, the bikes now sport a revised six-speed gearbox, with new input and output shafts and tweaked gear ratios and final drive. Triumph has recalibrated its Shift Assist for smoother clutchless up- and downshifting, but the bike also comes installed with a new slip-and-assist clutch.

Both motorcycles also feature a reworked frame to accommodate the new powerplant.

The 2026 Trident 660 roadster has received a bodywork update for a more buffed-up and sportier look. Its fuel tank has been redesigned to be wider with chiseled knee cutouts. The seat is a new split rider/passenger seat, while an accessory seat cowl is available to lone riders.

Perhaps more significantly, the Trident’s rear suspension has been upgraded with a new Showa unit. It offers improved adjustability with preload and rebound adjustment and 5.12 inches of travel.

Other updates for the Trident include a wider handlebar and a new headlight with updated headlight mount. The 2026 Triumph Trident 660 is available in Cosmic Yellow or Stone Gray from $8,995.

The 2026 Tiger Sport 660 aims to enhance its long-range touring capabilities with a series of updates. It now has a larger gas tank, which can store 4.9 gallons of go juice for increased range.

For the new model year, Triumph has given the Tiger Sport a beefier front end for added weather protection. The windscreen is now adjustable with one hand, moving between 51.65 inches and 54.92 inches.

In addition, the motorcycle features new radiator cowls and, like the Trident, a redesigned headlight. The 2026 Triumph Tiger Sport 660 comes in Blue/Mineral Gray and Silver Ice/Intense Orange for $10,445.

Both bikes will hit the dealerships in March 2026.
