Nelson-Rigg's Hurricane Waterproof Bags

When out on a serious motorcycle adventure, you must have a lot of gear quickly at hand. When you really need them, you don’t want to start digging through your loaded panniers for a camera, tools, or a first aid kit.
Nelson-Rigg’s Hurricane bag collection provides everything you need to keep your essentials within quick reach. Featuring a tailbag, tankbag, and a crash bar bag, you have plenty of options for organizing your most-needed items.
The whole collection is manufactured out of UV-treated PVC tarpaulin with heat-welded seams. We’ve put these bags through a lot of punishment and can vouch for their durability—they won’t let you down.
The Nelson-Rigg Hurricane bag collection is featured on the 2025 BMW R 1300 GS Adventure prize bike that you can win in the RoadRUNNER 25-year sweepstakes. Sign up for a chance to win a motorcycle with these rugged bags.
Let’s take a look at what each Hurricane bag has to offer.

Hurricane Adventure Tailbag
The Hurricane Adventure tailbag provides 28 liters of storage space. We like to keep our water bottles and snacks in the tailbag, but this is certainly no lunchbox.
With a rigid construction, the bag keeps its shape even when empty, which prevents it from flopping around as we bounce across rough trails. For mounting, the bag features an easy-to-use, durable strap-and-buckle system that loops around your luggage rack.
Furthermore, the bottom features a protective base material that sticks to your motorcycle, keeping the bag in place and offers cushioning to safeguard both your effects and bike.
Zip open the water-resistant zippers, and you’ll find a spacious storage compartment with sturdy self-adhesive X-straps to secure the tailbag’s contents. The light gray-colored interior makes it easy to locate the item you’re looking for. On the underside of the lid are mesh pockets, which are excellent for storing goggles, tools, or first aid items.
In case you need even more storage space, the top of the Adventure tailbag has a full MOLLE panel. Attach more pouches, bags, or straps—but make sure you don’t overload your bike.
You can brave the elements without worrying about the contents getting wet, thanks to the waterproof flap. We’ve ridden through dust and drizzle alike, and the interior has stayed sparkling clean.
The Nelson-Rigg Hurricane Adventure tailbag has an MSRP of $159.95.

Hurricane Waterproof Tankbag
Perfect photo ops don’t wait, so our cameras have to be immediately available during RoadRUNNER tours. The Hurricane WP tankbag lets us whip out the camera whenever we need it.
The main compartment measures 14x7.5x9.6 inches, totaling around eight liters. That’s enough space for even a big DSLR camera and its cords—alongside spare gloves, bug spray, sunscreen, tissues, allergy meds… If you need to get it quick, stick it in here.
The interior also features a handy adjustable and removable divider for organizing your thing and providing a bit of extra support.
As with the Adventure tailbag, the zippers are water-resistant and the covering flap further holds moisture out. We’ve certainly never had to pull a wet camera out of the bag.
The tankbag mounts to the bike with quick-release buckles and straps. It comes off easily for fueling or a stay in your hotel room, so sticky fingers don’t sneak into it overnight.
As a cherry on (literal) top, the lid has a transparent pouch for paper maps. Print out one of our RoadRUNNER tankbag maps, slip it in, and hit the road.
The Nelson-Rigg Hurricane Waterproof tankbag retails for $149.95.

Hurricane RiggPak Crash Bar Bag
You’ve stored your cameras, snacks, spare gloves, and sunglasses—but what about your tools? If you ask us, they should go in the Hurricane RiggPak.
This durable bag (or sack, really) has five liters of storage space, which is ideal for your tool roll, tire fix kit, and so forth. The waterproof roll closure keeps everything inside dry and clean, and the simple buckle system lets you get your hands on your tools easily.
Well, we use this bag for tools on the crash bad, but you certainly don’t have to. Under the cushioning back panel is a MOLLE panel that, with the included straps and buckles, lets you secure the RiggPak to virtually any part of your bike. Or you could stack it on top of the Adventure tailbag to create a Nelson-Rigg tower—it’s up to you.
The Nelson-Rigg Hurricane RiggPak crash bar bag retails for $49.95.
