City Escape: Yuba City, California

Escape the city and the heat by hitting this high Sierra loop for a historical tour of gold rush towns while laying down hours of seemingly endless twisties. The twisties culminate along the Feather River on SR 70, in my opinion one of the best motorcycle roads in California—which says a lot. Expect to be distracted by astounding views, pristine lakes and streams, and historical points of interest at every stop. 

Riders who fish or like antique hunting will find even more distractions. You can easily turn this route into a two-day ride to relax, explore, and indulge in everything along the way. In fact, it might take you two days just to read all the historical plaques on this route.
