25 Years—A Letter From Florian
Dear Reader,
It is with great pride that I announce RoadRUNNER Motorcycle Touring & Travel is celebrating its 25th year. As an independent, family-owned publishing company, we’ve always considered you, our readers, our extended family. We have ridden together through some seriously great times and also some hard and trying times. That’s why we’re dedicating this entire year to our readers. You can read more about RoadRUNNER’s early years and behind-the-scenes stories here.
Since 2001, our focus has been sharing our love of motorcycles and traveling to inspire your own wanderlust. After all, adventures are found on the road, in real life. We tell you all about the best places to ride, stay, and eat, and we’re not shy of objectively reviewing motorcycles and gear.
Doing anything for a quarter of a century calls for a party. You know what that means! It’s time to get together again. We’re still working on the details, but be sure to read our newsletter for updates.
Because we wouldn’t be here without you, we are going to make 2025 a very special year with surprises and never-before-published stories from our early days. The biggest news is our 2025 BMW R 1300 GS Adventure giveaway. That’s right—you can win a motorcycle!
We have been discussing how to make this work for years, and I’m more than happy to finally have it happen. Click here to read all about the venerable GSA, giveaway details, and—of course—how you can enter to win.
We recently published our annual Tour Operators Guide. Whether you’re looking for rentals, organized tours, or international or domestic destinations, something will surely pique your interest. As a long-time tour guide myself, I can say you’ll meet the coolest people on organized tours. Where else can you get together with other motorcyclists and travel nuts and spend epic days on the road together?
Naturally, this next year will bring you a plethora of exciting motorcycle travel editorial to inspire your next trip. Our most recent Shamrock Tour® takes you to northern Minnesota to explore the steep cliffs and deep forests around Lake Superior. The West Texas tour blends the region’s reality with legend, such as the mysterious Marfa lights. Outside America, Uwe Krauss motors out to find out whether it’s possible to cover all of the Dolomites over a single tour.
If you're looking for a great road you've never ridden, check out our list of Classic Roads. You can even ride many of them virtually via our YouTube channel's POV videos.
Don't forget to tell your friends about the awesome motorcycle they could win. Your help in spreading the word is greatly appreciated.
Good luck,
Florian Neuhauser
