Discover Classic Roads
RoadRUNNER’s Classic Roads articles celebrate iconic routes that every motorcyclist should experience. Learn about each stretch of road, why it’s iconic, and what you need to know before you visit.

If you only have one day to ride and are looking to get out of town, you’ll want to check out our City Escapes. These are single-day routes designed to help you find the most enjoyable roads and attractions around various U.S. cities, both big and small.
City Escapes start by getting you out of town on the most scenic roads possible. Each route includes points of interest, as well as a recommended lunch stop. GPS files are available to download to make it that much easier to follow along.
Whether you follow a City Escape out of your hometown or do a fly-and-ride with a rental, these ready-to-ride adventures help you get the most out of an area in the shortest time.
Get the Whole Story with Roundtrip and Shamrock Tours®
Featured Roundtrip tours are full-length travel stories that are ever so exciting to read. These are multi-day tours (usually 3-5 days) with changing nightly destinations. Many of these stories include a fun theme and personal experiences from our seasoned motorcycle travel journalists.
The Shamrock Tours® are the most popular stories found in RoadRUNNER. These tours feature four day rides out of a single base location. In most cases, each day's route takes you out of town in a different direction, so you get to delve into the broader surrounding region. In the evenings, you come back to town to experience the nightlife, restaurants, and other attractions near your hotel.
Both of these tour types offer exciting stories from the road, but also come with detailed maps, tips, and highlights to help you plan an unforgettable turn-key tour. GPS files are available to download if you’d like to recreate these tours for yourself.
