Schuberth Reveals New Noise-canceling C5 ANC Helmet

Road noise can be distracting during riding, and it could even lead to hearing loss. To combat this issue, Schuberth is releasing a new version of its C5 helmet with built-in active noise-canceling (ANC) technology.

Powering this development is Schuberth’s SC Edge ANC communications system. The communicator pairs with 53mm ANC speakers built into the new C5 helmet, developed in collaboration with Cardo.

The comms system’s microphone detects distracting wind and road noise and cancels them out from the signal fed into your ears. However, the ANC system is tuned for motorcycles, so it should still allow important sounds—such as engine, traffic, and emergency signals—to get through.

Schuberth promises the ANC can reduce noise by up to 10db when traveling at 60 mph. This reduction significantly lowers the sound pressure on the ears, offering a quieter and more comfortable riding experience.

In addition to the ANC features, the SC Edge ANC system functions as a regular second-generation DMC intercom with Mesh boost. It has a promised battery life of 10 hours, can connect up to 31 riders through universal Bluetooth, and has a claimed rider-to-rider range of one mile. With the Bluetooth connection, it can also pair with your motorcycle’s entertainment system.

The C5 helmet itself has received reshaped EPS foam side panels to accommodate the new speakers, microphones, and wiring. The communicator device attaches to the back of the helmet. Otherwise, the helmet is identical to its regular version. You can read our in-depth review to learn more.

The C5 ANC helmet comes in Matte Black, Gloss Concrete Gray, and Gloss White colors. Schuberth hasn’t released U.S. pricing at the time of writing. Comparing EU prices between the base C5 and the new C5 ANC, we can expect the helmet’s price tag to be somewhere in the high $800 range, while the SC Edge ANC communicator should sell for roughly $600.

The Schuberth C5 ANC helmet will be available from March 2026.
