Continental Announces Next-generation ContiSportAttack 5 Tire

Tire manufacturer Continental has announced the new generation of its ContiSportAttack supersport tire. The ContiSportAttack 5 aims to bring racetrack-suitable performance to the road.

In comparison to its previous generation, which was marketed as a “hyper-touring tire,” Continental has taken a sportier approach. Although the ContiSportAttack 5 is an 80% road tire, it was developed on the track to allow for occasional speedy sessions as well.

The tires feature a new formulation, consisting of Continental’s BlackChili compound. According to the company, the material improves grip while providing a longer lifespan due to optimized abrasion patterns.

Cornering ability has improved with the inclusion of the Continental MultiZoneBelt technology, comprising several steel belts throughout the tire structure. The central belt enhances stability on straight sections, while more widely winded belts on the tire shoulder allow the tire to offer more contact area.

Additional belts, together with a new carcass construction, seek to improve handling, providing more precise and agile steering. The tires’ TractionSkin surfacing and optimized tread zones warm the rubber up faster, making for safer riding.

The tires are specifically designed for speeds up to 200 mph. As such, they are aimed at supersport motorcycles, such as the Yamaha YZF-R9, and high-displacement naked bikes, like the Kawasaki Z 900 or KTM 1390 Super Duke.

The Continental ContiSportAttack 5 tires will be available in the first quarter of 2026 in five sizes.
