Review: MeadowView Marriott, Kingsport, TN

Located in the heart of Kingsport, TN, the MeadowView Marriott Conference Resort and Convention Center sits close to some of the most scenic routes in the area. Just a short ride from the hotel, you'll find some of the best motorcycle routes in Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia, with winding roads that take you through lush forests, picturesque countryside, and rolling hills.

The hotel is conveniently located just off I-81, making it an easy stopover for travelers passing through the area. But it's also a great destination in its own right, with plenty to see and do nearby.

One of the most popular routes in the area is the famous Snake, a stretch of US 421 that takes you through some of the most breathtaking scenery in the region. With tight curves, steep drops, and stunning views of the surrounding mountains, the Snake is a must-ride for any motorcycle enthusiast.

Another great route in the area is the Foothills Parkway, a 33-mile stretch of road that offers spectacular views of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The road is a favorite among riders, with plenty of hairpin turns and scenic vistas along the way.

No matter which direction you leave the hotel, exciting roads await. After all, there’s a reason we chose this place for the base of a Shamrock Tour® and the location of our 2017 Touring Weekend.

For those who want to explore Tennessee's history and culture, there are plenty of great routes to choose from. The Bristol Highway, for example, takes you to some of the region's most historic towns, including Jonesborough—the oldest town in Tennessee—and Bristol, home to the famous Bristol Motor Speedway.

More Than A Place to Rest Your Head

No matter which route you choose, you're sure to find plenty of great vistas and exciting riding opportunities in the Kingsport area. And when you're ready to relax and unwind after a long day on the road, the MeadowView Marriott is the perfect place to do so. With its luxurious amenities, prime location, and excellent dining options, it's a fantastic home base for any motorcycle traveler.

The MeadowView Marriott boasts 305 luxurious guest rooms, all of which are beautifully appointed with plush bedding, modern amenities, and gorgeous views of the surrounding landscape. I particularly loved the spacious, airy feel of the rooms.

One of the highlights of the hotel is the golf course, which boasts 18 challenging holes that wind through the rolling hills and valleys of the surrounding countryside. As a weekend golfer myself, I brought my travel clubs on my motorcycle to play a round. By travel clubs I mean clubs that consist of a grip shaft, middle shaft, and interchangeable club heads. It all went well until a club head broke off on the 12th. Stick to real clubs, eh?

Another great feature of the MeadowView Marriott is the expansive indoor and outdoor swimming pool. What better place to take a refreshing dip on a hot summer's day?

One of the things that sets the MeadowView Marriott apart from other hotels are its excellent dining options. The on-site restaurant, The Meadows, serves up delicious, locally-sourced cuisine that showcases the flavors of the region, while the more casual BroadStreet Grille is perfect for grabbing a quick bite or a few drinks with friends.

The MeadowView Marriott Conference Resort and Convention Center is an ideal location for a few days of riding and relaxing. With so many amenities, it’s easy to bring the whole family, whether they ride or not. Bonus points if they do.
