Maggie Valley, North Carolina

Nestled in the Smoky Mountains of western North Carolina, the town of Maggie Valley has everything a motorcycle enthusiast could want. Sitting at the heart of the greatest collection of motorcycle rides in the nation, Maggie Valley boasts many riding routes for all types of riders and skill levels with adventure waiting around every curve.

The Maggie Valley Shamrock Tour will take place in early 2023. The winner will get to work with the RoadRUNNER team as we create a custom tour to suit their favorite riding style and interests. There's a lot to see, do, and ride near Maggie Valley. Here’s a small sample of what this area has to offer.

Picturesque Routes

Some of the best mountain views in the U.S. are along the Blue Ridge Parkway, one of the many great places for a joy ride in the North Carolinian Smokies. For a thrilling trail of switchbacks, cruise along the Bobarosa Saloon Run or the Copperhead Loop. If you’re looking for a less crowded route, hit Thunder Road for scenic views that’ll still give you the rush of adrenaline and mountain air.

Good Eats

A long ride through the Appalachian countryside can work up a serious appetite. Refuel your tastebuds with a hearty meal at rider-friendly restaurants tucked along Soco Road. Take a pit stop at places like Brickhouse Burgers & Pizza. Cool down with a couple of cold brews along the creek at BearWaters Brewing Company. No matter what you’re craving, Maggie Valley has places to eat that’ll drive you and your crew wild.

Enter to Win an All-Expenses Paid Trip

We are giving away an all-expenses paid trip to one lucky winner and two of their friends to create a Maggie Valley, NC Shamrock Tour® alongside the RoadRUNNER team. You’ll get to ride the routes, stop for photos, eat in fantastic restaurants, and help create a story that will be featured in an upcoming RoadRUNNER issue.

Dale’s Wheels Through Time Museum

The Wheels Through Time Museum is home to the world’s premier collection of rare American vintage motorcycles. Located five miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, this all-American motorcycle museum houses more than 300 of the rarest and most historic classic U.S. motorcycles, with more than 24 marques on display, including the likes of Harley-Davidson, Indian, Excelsior, Crocker, Henderson, and much more. In addition, the museum features dozens of motorcycle-related exhibits, ranging from board track racers, hill climbing, and original paint machines to American dirt track racing, choppers and bobbers, and one-of-a-kind motorcycles.

Rider Friendly Accommodations

After a day full of cruising these hairpin turns, you might find you’re too tired to head home. At the end of your ride, park your bike, kick up your feet, and chill at one of Maggie Valley's many lodging options. Many of the motels and hotels are locally owned and rider friendly.
