EagleRider Supports Christopher Gordon’s 48-state Charity Ride

On August 13, 2025, British rider Christopher Gordon started a daunting undertaking, called the 4848 Riding to Give Hope Challenge. He aims to travel 11,000 miles through all 48 mainland U.S. states astride a Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic motorcycle in 48 days.
Sadly, this is no joyride. The 67-year-old Gordon is motoring to honor his sister, who died of motor neuron disease.
“My much-loved sister was diagnosed with motor neuron disease in April 2023. Before her diagnosis she was fit and active, a keen tennis player, and had been a teacher of physical education. Sadly, she passed away just 19 months later,” Gordon, a 67-year-old retired business management lecturer, said in a statement.
Gordon got on the road on August 13 from Las Vegas, NV, aiming to ride through America clockwise. He’s first heading for Washington state, before crossing the country again to Maine, riding down the East Coast to Florida, and then returning to Nevada.
Gordon is completing the entire ride alone and without GPS navigation. The ride is certainly a challenge, but Gordon has been riding since he was 16 and hold an Advanced Motorcyclist certificate, so his skills are definitely on par.

“This journey [is] therapy for my grief and hope for others facing this terrible disease,” said Gordon. Riders from local Harley-Davidson clubs and HOGs are expected to tag along with Gordon for short stretches of the way.
With the ride, Gordon aims to raise fund for the American ALS Foundation and the U.K. Motor Neuron Disease Association. You can pitch in on the 4848 Challenge SpotFund page.
Gordon’s journey has received the support of several motorcycling companies, including EagleRider. The motorcycle rental and tour company provided the Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic that Gordon is riding.
“When someone channels their deepest pain into hope for others, we don't just support them—we ride alongside them,” said EagleRider CEO Sebastian Schoepe.
In addition to EagleRider, the 4848 Challenge is supported by Harley-Davidson for bike servicing, Spotwhite for fuel, and Dawson and Sanderson for Gordon’s flights.
