COG Celebrates Its 35th Anniversary with 2024 National Rally
If you’re a fan of the Kawasaki Concours/GTR motorcycles, you’re surely aware of the Concours Owners Group (COG). This volunteer organization has been serving the interests of Concours fans worldwide for quite a while—three and a half decades, in fact.
This year marks COG’s 35th anniversary. What began with an off-hand remark about starting a club for Concours owners in 1989 has grown into a network of more than 50 volunteers who organize rides, rallies, and other events in the U.S. and Canada.
As such, there’s no better way to celebrate the organization’s birthday than with a riding event. The 2024 COG National Rally pulls double duty as COG’s official 35th anniversary celebration.
This theme of this year’s rally is “Wild & Wonderful,” which is appropriate as the event takes place in Flatwoods, WV, between August 12-16. The event schedule includes meetings, social gatherings, tech sessions, a COG organizational town hall, an ending banquet with a raffle, and—of course—plenty of riding.
Each morning starts with a live route discussion, where attending riders can learn about the region’s roads, share recommendations, and find new and old friends whose front wheels point in the same direction for the day. Then, it’s just a matter of getting on West Virginia’s curvy roads, lined with gorgeous woods and scenic mountain views.
All riders are invited to attend, whether they ride a Kawasaki Concours or something completely different. Attendance is limited, though, so don’t wait too long to book your ticket.
Similarly, there are a limited number of rooms available at the rally’s lodging HQ, the Days Inn & Suites Sutton Flatwoods. If you register for the 2024 COG National Rally before May 27, you’ll be entered into a drawing for free room—so get your name in soon!
Registration prices are $120 for COG members and $140 for others. Each registration package includes entry to the rally events, a complimentary bike wash, event insurance, and a goodie bag containing a pin, mug, stickers, and more.
