A New Scared

The dictionary says “fear” is a noun. I was taught that a noun is something you can put in a box. Can you put fear in a box?

Fear, by definition, is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.

It's a tricky thing, fear. It comes in waves right in front of and behind confidence, fun, and exhilaration. What would we be capable of if fear didn't exist?

As adults, we do not experience challenging new things that are scary as often as children. Subsequently, we do not experience the thrill of accomplishing something we couldn't do the week before like a growing child would. If that feeling has been lost for a long time, I challenge you to stir that emotion.

My husband and I found ourselves at a place in life where our children had grown up and it was time for us to find our new passion. Now, for context—I am the last person on the planet that you would expect to even sit on a motorcycle.

Yet, we bought motorcycles!
