Motorcyclists who dare ride to adventure can now head to exciting roads astride an updated bike. KTM has introduced the 2023 model of the 890 Adventure R that introduces a slew of upgrades.

The company said the reworked 890 Adventure R brings to the table new rally-inspired aesthetics and performance. The design goal of the update has been to improve the off-roading experience with better reliability and versatility.

The bike’s bodywork has been revamped, with cues taken from the KTM 450 Rally. The new fairing, fuel tank, and cowling give the 890 Adventure R better aerodynamics, ergonomics, and safety, making for a more agile and rideable motorcycle.

Other immediately noticeable design changes are the new lower windshield, a high front fender, and an engine protector.

The 890 Adventure R re-introduces a WP suspension package, with fully adjustable WP Xplor forks and a WP Xplor DS rear shock. The suspension solution aims to improve the riding feel and damping.

For control and navigation, the bike sports a brand-new 5-inch TFT display with an updated navigation system. The display also features a redesigned appearance and graphics, alongside the welcome inclusion of USB-C sockets.

Riders can use the new display to control the next-generation ABS system that receives information from a six-axis sensor. The ABS system is on by default in Off-road Mode and the optional Rally Mode, so you won’t have to bother turning it on separately.

The single-piece seat (same as on the bike’s previous iteration) has received new color options. The bike also boasts updated LED indicators that match its new graphics.

Last but not least, the 2023 890 Adventure R comes with a brand-new Demo Mode. This mode allows riders with newly purchased bikes to test all their specs and options for the first 1,500 miles. Once you reach the limit, you can then decide which features you’d like to unlock permanently, based on your riding preferences.

KTM hasn’t yet revealed the new bike’s MSRP.
