New Electric Indian eFTR Jr

Indian Motorcycle has launched its new eFTR Jr electric bike with an eye on bringing fresh blood into the riding community.

The bike, built for riders aged 8 and up and weighing up to 175 pounds, is designed to match Indian’s Scout FTR750 racing bike, the OEM says. The eFTR Jr features a rugged steel frame and dual disc brakes for increased safety, in addition to an easy-to-use-throttle for young motorcyclists.

Two different ride modes help the bike grow with the rider’s skills and confidence. The low mode is aimed at children aged 8 and up, allowing for a maximum speed of 10 mph, while the high mode is suitable for ages 13 years or more and can reach up to 15 mph.

The bike is powered by a 36v motor with a rechargeable battery. According to the manufacturer, the battery can provide 140 minutes of riding on low mode and 65 minutes on high mode.

In order to protect the fledgling riders from accidents, Indian has also introduced a new line of protective apparel and safety gear for youths. This new line features a variety of helmets, body armor, and gloves to protect the next riding generation.
