Long Way Up,” New Original Series Starring Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman

Apple TV+ has given us a sneak peek at Long Way Up, a motorcycle documentary series, starring the actors Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman.

Set to premiere globally on Apple TV+ on September 18, the series will cover McGregor’s and Boorman’s riding trip from Patagonia, Argentina to California, U.S.

The series is a spiritual sequel to 2004’s Long Way Round and 2007’s Long Way Down, which documented the pair’s travels in Europe, Asia, and North America.

This time, the riders will spend 100 days covering 13,000 miles across 13 countries on electrical Harley-Davidson LiveWire bikes. The choice of bikes corresponds with the show’s theme of calling attention to sustainability issues facing the planet.

McGregor and Boorman are set to head from Argentina to Chile before proceeding through Bolivia, Pery, Ecuador, Colombia, Central America, and Mexico before arriving in California. They will be accompanied by directors David Alexanian and Russ Malkin, driving electric Rivian R1T pickup trucks.

The first three episodes of the documentary series will go live on September 18, with new episodes following on a weekly basis.

Boorman has also starred in a number of other documentaries about his motorcycling trips, including Race to Dakar (2006), By Any Means (2008), and Right to the Edge (2009).
