Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride

Britain’s largest motorcycle OEM Triumph is again organizing the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride (DGR), an annual global riding event to raise funds for fund and awareness for men’s health issues.

The ride takes off on September 27 in cities all over the world. Triumph invites motorcycle enthusiasts to support research into prostate cancer and men’s mental health problems by both hopping on their bikes and by holding fundraising events.

In a deviation from the usual established format of group riding, the DGR will this year be a solo event to accommodate for essential social distancing measures in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The DGR event was launched in Sydney, Australia, in 2012. It has grown from a one-city event involving 3,000 riders to a global phenomenon with the 2019 ride drawing 116,000 riders from 104 countries onto the roads.

Over it’s run, the DGR has raised $24.5 million dollars in funding for men’s health issues.

After registering, participants can win prizes by riding in the event, raising funds, and making donations. Prizes are up for grabs in several categories with different participation requirements.

All riders who successfully complete their profile, donate to themselves and a random rider, and raise $200 in funds are entered into the Gentlefolk Prize Competition. Two winners will receive either a Triumph Bonneville T120 motorcycle, or an exclusive 2020 Hedon x DGR Hedonist helmet.

The motorcycle features a Bonneville 1200cc high torque engine with a design inspired by the original Bonneville machine. The helmet comes with a unique DGR-themed print.

Three highest fundraisers are rewarded with the helmet, a Belstaff apparel prize pack, and a motorcycle. The #1 position will receive the Triumph Truxton RS, while the second place earns the Triumph Scrambler 1200 and the third place the Triumph Speed Twin.

Top 50 global fundraisers will also get to cover their noggins with the exclusive helmet, while the top 20 will receive the Belstaff apparel pack as well.
