2016 Honda CBR500RNow With Sharper Style –

Text: Dawn Lindeman

For the last couple of years the annual American International Motorcycle Expo in Orlando, FL has been a focal point for OEMs releasing new models into the U.S. market. This year, Honda is the first out of the gate with their updated 2016 CBR500R. The first thing you’ll notice about the new CBR is that it gets a sizeable injection of style from its big brother, the CBR1000RR super bike. Big Red has also added LED headlights and taillights and revised the bike’s aerodynamics for “increased rider comfort and handling.” There’s also a new exhaust design that, according to Honda, improves mass centralization, reduces weight, and gives a more pleasing exhaust note.

Other changes include an adjustable front brake lever, smoother gear changes, and a larger fuel tank. The CBR500R’s front forks can now be adjusted for preload, as well. The 2016 Honda CBR500R will be available in Red, Matte Black Metallic, and Pearl White. It will hit dealer floors in early 2016.
