Michelin’s Alliance with Harley-DavidsonMichelin Scorcher Co-Branded Tire –

Michelin’s Alliance with Harley-DavidsonPerhaps no other motorcycle company does co-branding better than Harley-Davidson. Their partnership with Ford Motor Company, for instance, produced a number of high-end, Harley-Davidson co-branded Ford trucks. The Motor Company is at it again with its continued alliance with Michelin Tires. The two companies recently announced that Michelin’s Scorcher range of tires will be stocked at all authorized Harley-Davidson dealerships as well as Michelin dealers.

Several Scorcher models (the Scorcher 11, 31, and 32) come as original equipment on the Harley-Davidson Sportster, Dyna, V-Rod, and Street models. Previously, replacements were only available at HD dealerships, now, however, the OE Scorchers will be more widely accessible at other tire retailers.

Since many motorcycle owners like to stick with the brand and tire that was originally fitted to their ride, this will give Harley riders more access, and likely better prices, when it comes to purchasing OE Michelins.

Have you stuck with the OEM tire make and model for your bike? If not, how do you choose a new tire?
