The Cross Egypt ChallengeScooters in the Desert –

Egypt is one of the oldest, most mysterious, and historically significant nations on earth—does that make it the perfect place for an epic scooter rally? The organizers behind the Cross Egypt Challenge certainly think so. The challenge is an international motorcycle and scooter rally that began in 2011. Since then the ride has grown from just over 1,000 miles in length to nearly 1,700 miles for the 2015 event. This year’s route begins in Alexandria by the Mediterranean Sea and runs through the capital city of Cairo before following the shore of the Red Sea south through the cities of Sokhna, Sahi, Hashish, and Marsa Alam. The scooters will continue south across Egypt’s Eastern and Western deserts to Luxor, an ancient city that is now the world’s largest open-air museum. From there the challenge will jump from oasis to oasis before making a triumphant end at the Great Pyramids of Giza.

Sounds fun right? The rally will run for nine days beginning on October 23. For more info on the Cross Egypt Challenge, go to
