hdMedallian Reflective Jacket and Riddick Performance Boots –

When riding a Harley-Davidson across its home state, a rider has to look the part, but protection is important, too. I wore the Medallion Reflective Leather Jacket from Harley-Davidson MotorClothes—a stylish, black leather jacket with some intriguing practical features. To start with, though the branding on the jacket looks like most other H-D leather jackets, it actually features a lot of 3M Scotchlite reflective panels to enhance nighttime visibility (hence “Reflective” in the jacket’s name).

The Medallion is constructed of cowhide that’s claimed to be waterproof. This tour’s persistent sunny skies precluded putting that claim to the test; however, I don’t doubt it, especially with the jacket’s dual front zipper and storm flap. An under-the-helmet hood is tucked away in the collar, furthering the Medallion’s bad-weather credentials. Two front vents and twin rear exhaust vents allow a decent amount of airflow when the mercury rises. Other features include body armor pockets (highly recommended) in the shoulders and elbows but unfortunately not in the back.

The combination of classic H-D style, buttery soft leather, and real practicality make the Medallion a great option for the Harley touring rider.

To complete my ensemble, I also donned a pair of Riddick Performance Boots from Harley-Davidson Footwear. With abrasion resistant panels, ankle protection, and a Goodyear welt, the boots inspire confidence while matching the look of the jacket and motorcycle. The outside air vent zipper is also a nice touch.
