2015 Can-Am Spyder F3: BRP’s Muscle TrikeThe first thing you’ll notice when looking at the all-new 2015 Can-Am Spyder F3 is its aggressive look. By comparison Can-Am’s previous iterations were, well, kind of cute—for lack of a better word. The F3 has the muscle to back up its new posture too. The power plant is a Rotax sourced 1,330cc in-line triple producing a claimed 115 horsepower and 96 pound feet of torque. Buyers will have their choice of transmissions with a standard six-speed manual as well as a six-speed semi-automatic (both with reverse) available. Otherwise an all-new frame, Brembo braking hardware with Bosch ABS, and updated suspension are just some of the F3’s improvements over previous Can-Ams.

The F3 debuts a revised riding position for Can-Am as well. BRP surveyed potential customers to find out what they were looking for in the Spyder’s riding position, and the conclusion was that many buyers wanted a more foot-forward, cruiser-like stance, which is exactly what they’ll get with the F3. Can-Am has also introduced their UFIT System that uses a variety of foot peg positions and handlebar shapes and sizes to customize the F3’s seating position to each individual rider.

The Spyder F3 will come in two trims; the baseline model starts at $19,499 with manual transmission ($20,999 with semi-auto) and only comes in Steel Black Metallic or Pearl White. However, we think most buyers will go for the S model which starts at $20,999 ($22,499 with semi-auto) and adds a variety of two-tone paint schemes, machined front wheels, black suede seat, cruise control, and LED fender lights.

What’s your take on the new F3?
