Touring Vermont and Making the Pitch

Touring Vermont and Making the PitchWhat do you get when you combine ABC’s Shark Tank TV show with a motorcycle tour of Vermont? The answer is Road Pitch, a project of FreshTracks Capital, a Vermont based venture capital firm, and founder Cairn Cross. It will work like this, 25 Vermont entrepreneurs, investors, and business advisors will ride around the state of Vermont totaling approximately 350 miles and traversing 11 of Vermont’s 13 counties. The participants will ride everything from Harleys and BMWs to vintage bikes. Along the way they’ll stop in eight small towns across the state where they’ll listen to pitches from would be entrepreneurs on various business ventures and ideas. They’ll then give feedback, advice, and possibly even financing to those making the pitches.

Road Pitch will take place August 4-7, at the peak of Vermont’s riding season. The ride’s founder, Carin Cross, says, “We know that Vermont is rich in unique entrepreneurs and we want to help them. This is a great way for entrepreneurs to establish their brand, idea, credentials, and reputation in Vermont.” He goes on to say that, “The goal is to make Road Pitch an annual event and attract business riders from around the state and the country and bring capital, advice, and help into Vermont.”
