Compass Expeditions 2015 South American CircumnavigationCompass Expeditions 2015 South American CircumnavigationFor 128 days beginning on February 21st, 2015 the 360 Expedition will circumnavigate the entire continent of South America. Starting in Santiago, Chile, the tour will head south traversing Patagonia before turning northwards after visiting the world’s southernmost city of Ushuaia, Argentina. From there the expedition works its way north along the eastern coast of the continent with stops in places like Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro. The tour continues with a journey by boat up the Amazon River before tackling Venezuela with a visit to Angel Falls, the world’s highest waterfall. Upon arriving at the Venezuelan capital of Caracas, the group will turn south crossing Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia on the way back to the journey’s starting point of Santiago, which will be reached on June 28th. In all the 360 Expedition will travel around 20,000 miles. Other highlights include, crossing the Atacama Desert, the Uyuni Salt Flats, and much more.
