Nevada Turns 150, Raffles Off HarleyTo raise money for the state’s sesquicentennial celebration, the Nevada 150 Foundation (a non-profit) is selling raffle tickets to win a 2014 Harley-Davidson Street Glide. The bike has been signed by Nevada’s Governor, Brian Sandoval (showing off his raffle ticket in photo) and has been customized to reflect Nevada’s sesquicentennial. The modifications include a special blue and silver leaf paint scheme, Nevada’s state seal on the tank and flag on the rear fender, as well as a “Battle Born Nevada” 150th logo on the front fairing. There’s also copious amounts of extra chrome, a new stereo, a heavy breather kit and mufflers, and more. Organizers hope to sell 2,000 tickets at an appropriate $150 each to raise a total of $300,000 for Nevada’s anniversary. Those interested in entering the raffle can purchase tickets at Las Vegas Harley-Davidson and at a variety of 150th anniversary events across the state. The drawing will take place right off the Vegas strip at Las Vegas Harley-Davidson’s new location sometime this fall.
