2014 Harley-Davidson Street 500 and Street 750: Liquid Cooling and Smaller EnginesIn a dramatic follow up to last summer’s Project Rushmore, Harley-Davidson has unveiled two additions to their Dark Custom lineup aimed at young, urban riders. The Street 750 and Street 500 represent the first all new platform from the Motor Company in more than a decade. Powering the bikes are Harley’s new Revolution X liquid cooled powertrains. Engine size seems to be the only thing differentiating the two models with the Street 500’s motor displacing 494cc and the 750’s 749cc. Otherwise, the two bikes share a six speed transmission, belt drive, 2 into 1 exhaust, and pretty much every other spec you can think of. Strangely, (barring a typo from Harley-Davidson), the bikes even share an identical 480-pound wet weight. These Harley’s are intended for the global market, hence the drastically reduced engine sizes, and will be on sale sometime in 2014. Pricing starts at $6,700 for the Street 500 and at $7,500 for the 750.
