Aerostich AD-1 Pants

AD-1 PantsAerostich’s new AD-1’s are waterproof all-weather advanced-technology protective pants suitable for all types of riding. They provide the classic jeans-cut fit, meaning the waist will fall at about the same location as the belt-line of your jeans (versus Aerostich’s similar-looking Darien Pants, which fit like khaki pants).

Full-length separating side zippers help the pants go on and off fast and feature inner and outer weather flaps to keep rain and wind out. Dual waistband side-snaps provide a custom-adjustable fit for all-season comfort and the front zippered fly features a seam sealed inner gusset for enhanced water resistance. These pants also include a removable money belt and allow greater all-day comfort for moving around in the saddle.

The AD-1’s are available in two versions, regular and light. The regular HT600D Nylon version uses a super strong and highly abrasion-resistant three-layer GORE-TEX fabric. The lighter and slightly cooler AD-1 Lights use a HT200D Nylon GORE-TEX.

AD-1 PantsFeatures and fit are the same for both versions. Removable, custom-positionable oversize TF3 knee armor provides impact protection, and several styles of optional hip pads are available separately to mate with the provided hook and loop areas. Large Scotchlight reflective ankle/calf adjustment tabs increase rear-conspicuity at night and feature radial hook and loop adjustments. Both versions are available in sizes 30–46, in regular and long lengths, in black, gray, or tan. You can get the AD-1’s for $387 and the AD-1 Lights for $337 at

The AD-1 Lights are well suited for commuting and urban riding, and we’ll be reviewing them in our Jan/Feb ’17 issue. Stay tuned!
