Over 50k BMWs Recalled Over Potential Fuel LeaksIf you own a 2005-2011 BMW R-series, 2005-2012 K-series, 2010-2011 S 1000 RR, or a 2006-2010 HP2, your bike may be prone to leak fuel. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued the recall after finding that the fuel pump flange has an issue with cracking, which can lead to leaked fuel catching fire. BMW will be contacting owners and dealers shortly and the defective flanges will be reinforced, or, if necessary, the fuel pump will be replaced free of charge. The issue reportedly affects 50,184 motorcycles. If you think your bike might be on the recall list, you can contact BMW at (800) 525-7417 or the NHTSA at (888) 327-4236.
