BMW R nineT Goes Into ProductionWhen we first saw BMW’s Concept 90, built with the help of designer Roland Sands, we thought it was cool but didn’t think we’d be seeing a production version. Sometimes it’s nice to be wrong. We later learned that the R nineT, based on the Concept 90, was on its way for the 2014 model year. Well, on Monday, the new retro standard officially went into production at BMW’s plant in Berlin. Around noon the first three bikes off the line passed through a gauntlet of tests on a rolling dynamometer, which checks over 1,000 different performance parameters. There were around 100 spectators on hand to witness the occasion as the R nineT is being built to commemorate BMW Motorrad’s 90 years in existence.
