The 2014 Indian Chief’s Sturgis DebutAs Indian Motorcycle continues to keep the energy and anticipation high during the run up to the new Indian Chief’s unveiling at this year’s Sturgis rally, the company has announced that the reveal party will take place Saturday, August 3rd at 8 p.m. in the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame. The celebration (which is free and open to the public) will feature Mike Wolfe of American Pickers, interviews with Indian team members, and a tribute to Indian’s history.

Steve Menneto, Vice President of Polaris Motorcycles, says of the decision to showcase the next generation bike at the rally, “The Sturgis Rally was started in 1936 by the local Indian Motorcycle club, the Jackpine Gypsies, and has grown to become the world’s largest motorcycle rally, drawing riders from across the globe. We found it fitting to unveil the new Indian motorcycle at Sturgis given its heritage at this signature motorcycle event.”

The hoopla doesn’t end with the unveiling either, Indian has also released a laundry list of displays, parties, and, most interestingly, demo rides. It’s rare that the public gets the opportunity to ride a brand new model so soon after its release, but such is going to be the case with the 2014 Indian Chief. Riders with a motorcycle endorsement will be able to take the new bike out for a spin from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, August 4th through Saturday, August 10th.
