Kawasaki and Hollywood Join Forces

In a stroke of what may be cross marketing genius, Kawasaki has teamed up with the forthcoming big budget remake of The Lone Ranger (staring Johnny Depp as Tonto) to create their “Live the Legend” ad campaign. The video, which you can see below, likens the modern Kawasaki rider, whether it’s a KX, Ninja, or quad, to a Wild West cowboy on his steed bringing justice and avenging the weak. Pretty clever. The campaign will also feature a variety of co-branded promotional material distributed through Kawasaki’s dealer network as well as special Lone Ranger edition Kawasakis that will be given away in various sweepstakes, including five Teryx4 750 4X4 LE side by sides that will go to lucky Subway restaurant customers, and another Teryx4 and four Shoei off-road helmets that will be given away for a sweepstakes with ABC’s “Good Morning America.” A custom Lone Ranger inspired ZX-6R (pictured above) will appear at the film’s premier and be signed by its stars to be auctioned off later to benefit the American Indian College Fund.

What do you think? Does the ad campaign inspire you to go charging through desert landscapes on a KX, or does it at least make you want to go see the film? Let us know in the comments below.
