Four New Custom Accessories From the Motor Company

Harley-Davidson has four new items from its Genuine Motor Accessories collection to make riding and servicing your Hog more enjoyable.

In the engine compartment, Screamin’ Eagle Tappets are designed to provide reliable service in Harley Twin Cam and Sportster engines when operating with high-lift cams, high-rpm applications, and high-pressure valve springs. Needle bearing size is 25 percent larger for improved durability and the dynamic load rating is increased by a claimed 20 percent compared with the Original Equipment Twin Cam tappets. The tappets are sold in a set of four for $249.95 fitting 1999 and later Twin Cam and 2000 and later Sportster XL Evolution engines.

Harley-Davidson claims it has the only digital suspension air pump on the market for checking and altering pressure in the rear shocks of all Harley touring motorcycles. A bleed valve allows precise and accurate air pressure adjustment and a “no loss” connector maintains shock pressure when the fitting is removed. The LCD readout operates on a lithium coin-type battery and display units can be changed between PSI and kPa (kilopascals unit of pressure). A pivoting pump handle provides grip while adding air to the shocks. The compact Digital Touring Suspension Air Pump retails for $69.95 and can also be used to measure tire pressure.

Heading out for a longer ride? The Wind Splitter Vented Windshield is wind tunnel tested to relieve low pressure behind the windshield and reduce rider buffeting, making time in the saddle more pleasant. While perched in your comfy seat, you can adjust a centrally-located vent with only a fingertip to precisely tailor the amount of airflow. The Wind Splitter’s shape is designed to keep bugs and road schmutz below the rider’s sight line, and it’s engineered to provide the comfort of a larger windshield. The hard-coated polycarbonate material has good scratch resistance and a dark smoke finish reduces glare. Polished stainless-steel brackets mount to the original equipment docking points for easy installation and removal. The Wind Splitter fits 1994 and later Road King models, 2000 and later Heritage Softail Classics, and 2000 and later Heritage Softail, Fat Boy, Fat Boy Lo, and Softail Deluxe models equipped with auxiliary lighting.

Eighteen-inch Cut Back Gloss Black Road Winder Custom Wheels are available for 2004 and later touring models (no trikes). The eight-spoke custom Black Road Winders replace the more classic-styled stock wheels and give your bike the look of forward motion, even while the bike is standing still. Matching brake rotors and sprockets stand out against slim spokes. Within the spokes, the gloss black finish has been cut away to show off forged 6061 aluminum for a dramatic effect. The new wheels retail for $749.95 each. Mounting may require a model-specific wheel installation kit, sprocket hardware, and brake rotor-specific hardware, as well as a tire, which is a separate purchase.
