The same company that shrunk the home stereo into a box the size of a paperback in the 1980s has done it again, putting the guts of a dSLR into a photocopier and making copies at 50%. The NEX series of cameras is improbably small, especially when you consider that they contain the same sensors as in most of Sony’s larger, bulkier, dSLRs.

It’s not all rainbows and unicorns though. The larger APS-C sensors require larger lenses, but the overall package is still impressively compact, especially when you consider the image quality it is capable of.

…people stepping up from a point-and-shoot
…people that want to make large prints to hang at home

The Sony NEX cameras are not for…
…dSLR traditionalists
…those that want a 5x zoom camera to fit in their jacket pocket
