Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I already have an online account, how do I link my subscription?

A: Log in to the website. The first page you will be directed to is My Home, where you can enter your subscription number, PIN code, and Shipping ZIP/Postal Code to link your subscription with a existing magazine subscription.

Your subscription number and PIN code can be found on your magazine's mailing label. See example below. The subscription number is the first 5-digit number, followed by the 8-digit PIN number indicated in yellow. Note: Each individual has a unique subscription number and PIN

If you do not have your mailing label and/or do not know your Subscription # and PIN code, please email Customer Service (link) with your full name and mailing address or call 866-343-7623.

Q: How can I create an online account with my subscription information?

A: In the right hand corner of the RoadRUNNER homepage, click the link labeled New User. Complete the form with your email address, your unique password, subscription number, PIN code, and shipping ZIP/Postal Code.

Once you have pressed the Sign Up button at the bottom of the screen, an email with an activation code is sent to the email address with which you registered. You'll need to check your email inbox (or possibly your spam mail folder) for the email with the activation code and finish the registration process. If you need any further assistance, you may contact Customer Service at 866-343-7623.

Note: For U.S. Residents, only the first 5 digits of the zip code need to be entered in the registration form.

Q: Where can I find the download links for the GPS files?

On tour article pages, the yellow information box on the right will indicate "Available for download", if a GPS file is available for the article. If you purchased the article and are logged in, you will be able to see the download links for the GPS files in that same yellow box. Also, if you are a subscriber, and you have linked your online account to your subscription, you will have access to all complete articles, including tankbag maps and GPS files, that appeared in issues that were part of your subscription.

Q: I'm a subscriber. Do I have access to the tankbag maps and GPS files?

Yes. If you are a subscriber, and you have linked your online account to your subscription, you will have access to all complete articles, including tankbag maps and GPS files, that appeared in issues that were part of your subscription. Make sure you are logged in order to access the complete article.

Q: How do I open the GPS files?

We recommend using the latest version of Garmin MapSource for PC (link) or Garmin RoadTrip for Mac OS X (link). To get more familiar with these applications, please read the tutorials available on the Garmin website (link).

Q: Why does my GPS program and/or GPS device show a different route than the one printed on the RoadRUNNER tankbag maps?

The GPS files we provide only include certain way points along the route. Your GPS software/device is the brain behind connecting them, and finding the best fitting path between these points. Using the settings in your specific GPS software/device, you can influence what types of roads are preferred for the route selection. Always consult a more current and up to date map to verify the correctness of the GPS map.
