I’ve always been lucky enough to have jobs that were unique. When I was younger, I worked at a bakery as a cookie decorator. That was fun! After graduating from Salem College with a degree in Communication Studies, I got to travel all around the country working for a business that made software for carpet and hardwood flooring stores. Pretty random, right? I even worked for a company that owned and managed cemeteries. I got a lot of weird questions about work then. But working with RoadRUNNER magazine these past four years, has by far been the coolest thing I’ve done. I get to help plan some pretty amazing rides, be involved in something I’m proud of, and help clients in the tourism and travel industry promote their areas as unique motorcycling destinations. Plus I’ve met some pretty interesting folks, both readers and contributing editors. I don’t know what it is about motorcyclists, but there’s a great camaraderie amongst the riding crowd! When I have free time, I love to travel, especially with great friends.
This past year, I discovered backpacking. Climbing mountains, with everything I need to survive on my back might not be the right vacation choice for me, but camping is always an awesome experience. For me, that’s what life is all about. I enjoy experiencing new places, foods, music, etc.…Most of all I love to meet new people and to hear about their lives. I jokingly say that I don’t have interests, but really I think it’s because I’m interested in everything. There’s just too much going on to ever stay still for long!
