The Velocity chain maintenance system is designed to make cleaning and lubing a motorcycle chain a less messy job while allowing the use of bulk solvents and lubricants. The two-piece tool wraps around the chain near the sprocket, and the connected leash can be wrapped around a motorcycle part such as a footpeg to keep the tool in place while the chain passes through it. Two adapter hoses serve as solvent or lubricant input to the tool. One can be used with aerosol cans, and the other with a supplied syringe, which makes it easy to use any type of liquid for cleaning or lubing. A drain hose connects to the bottom of the tool for channeling any excess liquid and to a collection container. An optional round cleaning brush can be wrapped around the chain at the entry point of the tool.
After a couple of uses, I appreciate how it contains the mess when cleaning the chain. The dirty solvent that flings off the cleaning brush is minimal, especially compared to other chain brushes I have used. Some of the solvent does come out of the openings for the chain and it seems that a larger diameter would serve the tool better in controlling excess fluids. This is definitely a nice tool to have in your toolbox, as long as you keep it clean and in a dedicated seep-proof container.
