Stolen Pig Rally

The second annual Stolen Pig Rally is being held by Donald and Kathy McCoy at the Real McCoy Trails and the Hatfield-McCoy Resort in historic Matewan, WV, April 27-30. The rally is for street-legal adventure and enduro bikes.

Stolen Pig RallyThere will be guided and self-guided routes available, including the historic Feud Loop, named for an 1893 feud between the towns of St. George and Parsons, WV. It consists of exciting mixed dual-sport roads that take riders through some of the most remote spots in West Virginia. Street riders will delight in the fact that there’s not a single quarter-mile of straight road in the region, and plenty to see and do. Because of the area’s rich history, including the Hatfield-McCoy feud and the Matewan Massacre, the town of Matewan is a National Historic Landmark, and Donald and Kathy are direct descendants of the Hatfields and McCoys.

Tent and RV camping spots are available for free. Trail permits provided by the Hatfield McCoy Trails will also be free. Showers and restrooms will be available, with a dumping station for RVs close by. The resort will host a “pig out” Saturday night, featuring wood-smoked pork barbecue and all the fixin’s. Its restaurant will also be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner 7 a.m. – 10 p.m.

The rally is an all-weather event, and attendees must register regardless of where they choose to stay. Registration packages can be picked up during the event at The Hatfield McCoy Resort on Main Street in downtown Matewan. Lodging is limited and it’s recommended that you book your space early. Registration costs $25 (add $15 if you want to attend the barbecue) and ends April 9.
