Last year Ducati celebrated its 90th anniversary at World Ducati Week. Now, the Bologna-based company is marking the milestone with Stile Ducati, a collector’s edition book that illustrates the attention to style and design for which Ducati has always been known.

Stile DucatiPublished by Milan-based Skira, the volume tells a story through images, tracing the evolution of Ducati design from the Cucciolo—the company’s post-WWII clip-on engine for motorized bicycles—to the 916 an on to the 1299 Panigale S Anniversario.

“Every one of our bikes must show it has a full share of Ducati DNA,” said Andrea Ferraresi, director of the Ducati Design Center. “It must have sports style; it has to ooze adrenaline, power, fluidity, and technology. At the same time, its design must be pure and essential, capable of communicating lightness while ensuring high performance and off-the-scale riding fun. A design that sends an at-a-glance shiver down the spine, a taste of what’s to come when you ride it.”

All aspects of the large-format, high quality book were designed and developed internally. Its 336 pages contain more than 150 photos by Giovanni De Sandre. Most are close-ups of the bikes, with brief descriptions of each, key aspects of its development, and the relative historical context. Two pages at the end are dedicated to important moments in Ducati’s history.

The price is $90. You can purchase the book at Ducati dealerships or on Amazon. To learn more, visit www.ducati.com.
