2017 Kawasaki Versys-X 300

Combining the fuel-efficient 296cc parallel-twin from the Ninja 300 with the structure of the Versys 650, Kawasaki has created an entry-level model to the Versys family: the 2017 Versys-X 300. And pricing has just been announced: $5,399 for the standard non-ABS model, and $5,699 for ABS.

Compact and responsive, with a lightweight chassis and long-travel suspension, the Versys-X 300 comes with two optional packages for customization. “Urban” includes handguards, a tank pad, centerstand, and a 30-liter top box. “Adventure” gets the centerstand and tank pad plus tubular engine guards and 17-liter panniers.

Billed as a multipurpose adventure-commuter bike, the 300 has upright seating and a low seat height, a 4.5-gallon fuel tank, tall windscreen, wide handlebars, 19- and 17-inch wire-spoke wheels, and an assist and slipper clutch. Another fold in the burgeoning lower-displacement market, it’s designed to be a sporty and nimble ride ready for light off-road duty.

Available in Candy Lime Green and Metallic Graphite Gray, it’ll make its way to dealerships in spring 2017. To learn more, visit www.kawasaki.com.
