RoadRUNNER Behind the Scenes: The Annual Touring Weekend10th Anniversary Ride –

Christa and Christian Neuhauser moved to the United States from Austria in 1999. The couple, and their two sons (Florian and Manuel), were avid motorcycle touring enthusiasts having already traveled the country extensively by motorcycle. After their move it wasn’t long before the idea was hatched for an American motorcycle touring and travel magazine. The first issue of RoadRUNNER was published in 2001.

In 2005 Christian passed away in an accident. The following year Christa, Florian, Manuel, and a dedicated group of RoadRUNNER writers, fans, and subscribers held the first annual Christian Neuhauser Memorial Ride. Since then the memorial ride has become RoadRUNNER’s annual Touring Weekend where the magazine’s staff and contributors, subscribers, and friends join together for a weekend of fantastic motorcycling touring, food, and camaraderie all in memory of RoadRUNNER’s founder.

This year marks the Touring Weekend’s 10th anniversary. The event, which in years past has been held in a variety of locations across North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia, will return to RoadRUNNER’s hometown of Winston-Salem, NC. The 10th Touring Weekend will take place July 16-19, 2015. To find more information on this year’s event and to register go to www.touring-weekend.com.
