BIKE WEEK 2006Today marks the beginning of yet another edition of the nation’s second most popular motorcycle rally—Daytona Bike Week. The inaugural event took place in 1937 and, with the exception of several years during World War II, has been running continuously ever since. The rally draws around half a million participants each year and is rivaled only by Sturgis in size. This year’s rally, the 74th Daytona Bike Week, spans from March 6-15th.

Many OEMs will be on hand showcasing their wares, and none more visibly than Harley-Davidson. The Motor Company will have their electric bike called Project LiveWire on display along with the the bike from the Sons of Anarchy TV show. The Harley-Davidson Museum will also have a special area at the rally with Willie G.’s 1983 FXDG Disc Glide Prototype taking center stage.
