RoadRUNNER’s Bucket List Roads: Central Pennsylvania RoundtripWhat is It? Although Pennsylvania may not be as well known as some other East Coast riding venues, it has much to offer, particularly in its central region. The Bucket List Road this month is a collection of some of the best backroads that Pennsylvania has to offer for scenic beauty and challenging tarmac. The Start/Finish location for the ride is the historic town of Lock Haven, PA. Be sure to stop at the iconic Wellsboro Diner for lunch in Wellsboro, PA (19 Main St).

Scenery: Bucolic valleys, pristine state forests, picturesque villages, and stunning Pine Creek Gorge (aka Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania) all contribute to the ride’s spectacular scenery.

Curves: Pass roads over mountain ridges and lightly traveled backroads, which follow the sinuous path of burbling creeks provide ample opportunity for peg scraping.

Traffic: Roads on this route are generally lightly trafficked.

Distance: Approximately 215 miles.

Time Required: Plan to spend an entire day.

Technical Difficulty: Generally moderate, but the route is replete with blind curves.
