2015 Honda CB300F: The Baby CBR Gets Naked

Honda continues its all-out drive to lure new and younger riders into the sport with their latest model, the CB300F. As you could probably infer from its name, the CB300F is a naked version of the recently announced CBR300R, which takes the place of the previous CBR250R at the bottom of Honda’s street going lineup. The bike is powered by a stroked version of Honda’s venerable 249cc single-cylinder engine, which now displaces 286cc. Along with its powerplant, the CB300F shares virtually everything else with its CBR300R sibling. The primary differences being the bodywork and seating position, which looks to be more upright than the CBR’s.

With a wet weight of only 348 pounds, the CB300F comes in nine pounds lighter than the CBR, and at an MSRP of $3,999 it’s $400 cheaper too. The bike should hit dealers this fall and will only be available in red. No plans for an ABS equipped version have been mentioned yet.
