2015 Ducati Diavel: The Italian Power CruiserIn a press release rife with Italian hyperbole Ducati has announced several updates to its “sport cruiser” for the 2015 model year. These improvements mostly focus on the Diavel’s engine, though peak power figures haven’t changed much. The 11º Testastretta Duel Spark engine (also seen in various states of tune in the Multistrada and Monster 1200) makes the same 162 peak horsepower as the earlier model, but torque jumps a couple pound-feet to 96. In the Diavel, the engine is optimized for the flexible, torque rich power band best suited to a cruiser. Other changes include full LED lighting (there’s the Audi influence) updated exhaust, a new seat, and a few other odds and ends. As before, the Diavel Carbon gets a smattering of carbon fiber bits that bring its weight down to 452 pounds dry (11 pounds less than the base model) as well as a set of Marchesini forged aluminum wheels. Thankfully, the MSRP stays very close to the previous models with the Diavel Dark coming in at $17,995 and the Diavel Carbon at $20,995. For more, check out the Ducati’s Diavel website.
