Is the standard K 1600 GTL too plebian for you? Do you desire even more from your luxury-touring machine? Well BMW has heard your elitist cries! The Exclusive edition of BMW’s preeminent touring motorcycle has all the bells and whistles. To differentiate itself from the base GTL, the Exclusive sports a Mineral white metallic paint scheme with chrome accents, matching seat upholstery, and a magnesium metallic matte and Glacier silver metallic radiator. The upscale model also boasts aluminum molding around the fuel tank, chrome exhaust, and a revised look for the instruments.
Aside from the aesthetic upgrades, the K 1600 GTL E comes with larger, more comfortable seats and armrests as well as a heated backrest. It also offers Keyless Ride for the first time on a BMW. This system allows the bike to be operated with the key still in the rider’s pocket. An integral film antenna is incorporated into the topcase lid to provide radio reception without the use of a traditional wire antenna protruding into the air. Electronic goodies available as options on lesser GTLs are standard on the Exclusive including three riding modes: Rain, Road, and Dynamic, as well as Dynamic Traction Control (DCT), Electronic Suspension Adjustment II (ESA II), and Hill Start Control.
Other luxurious features include and audio system ready for navigation with an interface for iPods, MP3 players, and USB hookups along with Bluetooth and satellite radio, LED running lights, embroidered liners for cases, an adaptive xenon headlight, and more.
Pricing hasn’t been announced but expect it to be north of the base GTL’s substantial $23,950 MSRP.
