Americade 2013

Americade 2013This year’s Americade was much like the many before it, dating all the way back to the inaugural rally in 1983, with tens of thousands of motorcyclists descending on Lake George, NY. The rally, which occurs the first week of June every year, continues to draw more motorcyclists than any other multi-brand event.

This year, RoadRUNNER set up in the Tour Expo Forum and got to meet and talk to many of our readers, which is always great. We also hosted a dinner Wednesday evening in the Fort William Henry’s White Lion Room overlooking beautiful Lake George. Every seat was filled, the food was excellent, and the room was humming with conversation making the meal a resounding success. RoadRUNNER’s publisher, Christa Neuhauser, also conducted a seminar on riding in the rain, which ended up being very timely as the sky turned gray. Many Americaders also participated in our unguided Mt. Equinox lunch tour, which was an enjoyable day ride up to the summit of Mt. Equinox and back.

In addition to the many vendors in both the indoor Tour Expo Forum and the outdoor Tour Expo Beach, most of the major OEMs were also on hand showcasing their products and offering demo rides.

What did you think? If you were at this year’s Americade, what were some of your favorite moments? Let us know in the comments below.
