Allstate’s Interactive Rider Risk MapYou’re most likely familiar with particularly dangerous stretches of road in your local area and tend to avoid certain places at certain times. However, when you’re in an unfamiliar place, you may not have the knowledge you need to bypass problem areas. That’s why Allstate Insurance created the Rider Risk Map. Allstate’s Facebook fans were asked to identify intersections they felt were especially unsafe, as well as potholes, blind curves, and other hazards. The result is a map, available on Allstate’s Facebook page, which blankets the country with flags denoting various danger zones as submitted by fellow motorcyclists. The Rider Risk Map is an ongoing project that allows you to flag areas you want to warn other riders about. As it develops, Allstate hopes to create a comprehensive risk assessment of the nations roadways giving riders the information they need to avoid potential hazards in locations they aren’t familiar with.
