Cardo Systems Scala Rider G4 Promises That You’ll Never Ride Alone

Tired of pointing at your tank to tell your riding buddies that you need gas? Maybe it’s time to try an intercom system. Cardo Systems has recently announced the "scala rider G4", a handsfree bluetooth intercom. The system allow up to three individual motorcycles to communicate, or two bikes with a rider/pillon pair (4 people total). Range is a claimed 1 mile, but like most wireless devices, that’s probably under ideal circumstances (i.e., flat terrain, a new moon, fully-charged, etc…). Because it’s Bluetooth, the intercom can interface with any number of Bluetooth-enabled devices like cell phones, radios, GPS systems, and MP3 players. The system costs $279.95 per helmet. Buy a pair now, and play with it around the house as the snow melts outside!

If you’ve got experience with Cardo Systems products or other intercom systems, let us know. We’d love to hear real rider feedback!

About the author

I am the Digital Rider, Tweeting at gas stations, Four-Squaring at restaurants, and always asking, "does the room have wifi?" I love how technology has changed how motorcycle adventures are planned, documented, and shared, but I'm happiest when a stretch of road is so epic that I puts all the gadgets aside and live and ride in the moment.
